I am a born-again Christian since February 2003. The most exciting thing that has happened to me since being saved is my hearing was restored. I used to wear hearingaides and had a 40% hearing loss in both ears. All of that changed in October 2003 when god healed me at my church "Highest Praise Fellowship" in Pueblo, Co. My church that I attend now is "Church for all nations in Colorado Springs, CO. I grew up in a very dysfunctional home. My mother was......
I was a cutter, anorexic, bulimic, have dabbled in the occult, have been suicidal and attempted suicide many different times, I would actually sit and cry out to God to just let me die. I felt that no one loved me, no one wanted me, due to abuse and words that were spoken, I was broken and alone. I had my first daughter at the age of 15, and quit school. I have done any type of drug that was offered to me, and was......
While
reading the Bible the other day I read about the life of Moses. I’ve read this
story more times than I can remember from my childhood, but that day the Lord
pointed out something I never realized before. When God appeared to Moses in
the burning bush He commanded him to return to Egypt and tell Pharaoh to let
the Israelites go. Much like us Moses made a few excuses on why he couldn’t do
what God had commanded. He first asked the question, ‘Who am I?’ and God told
Moses He would be with him while he carried out his task. Then Moses asked God ‘What
will I say when I come to the people and what if they don’t believe You sent
me?’ And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say
unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. (Exodus 3: 14)
After
reading this verse it struck a chord within me, I AM THAT I AM….. that is one
powerful description. How can we make so many excuses when the I AM compels us
to move? Even after God has reassured Moses that He would be with him and gave
him the words to say to convince the elders Moses still made excuses to why he
couldn’t do it. Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me,
nor hearken unto my voice for they will say; The Lord hath not appeared unto
thee. (Exodus 4:1) The Lord then goes on to give Moses a few signs to show him
that He was indeed the master of every situation, still Moses made excuses.
Moses then said Lord I am not eloquent of speech, and the Lord asked Moses a pivotal
question; Who hath made man’s mouth? Or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the
seeing, or the blind? Have not I the Lord? God then provides Moses with a mouth
piece, his brother Aaron.
We are all
guilty of making excuses for not doing what God wants us to do. But we need to
stop questioning God and have faith that everything He asks of us has a good
reason. Today let’s throw every excuse out the window that we have for not
doing what God commands. If people question your actions just simply reply I’ve
been sent by the I AM!
